Hi, I'm Bex!

I am a Mexican American Latina raised in the rural Midwest, surrounded by a lot of family, laughs, and cornfields. I’ve had this lifelong struggle of feeling ni de aquí, ni de allá (IYKYK). It always seemed like there were two different sides to one coin, two (often opposing) perspectives between cultures, customs, religion, and gender norms.

I have always used my creativity as an outlet to express myself. Art and design gave me the space to heal and even embrace the struggle of feeling not from here nor there, which was the inspiration behind my first product line of candles inspired by the first-gen experience. I've been making candles for over ten years, matching scents with my memories, puns, and love of pop culture and good design. Through my research, I have created my perfect candle: subtly scented, made with high end fragrance oils and all-natural wax, that are aesthetically pleasing and inspire joy.

As the business (and I!) evolve, I know that I will always be Fresa (see right) and from writing or editing to interior design, I want to expand on the Creative and take on clients in the future. I am passionate about design, flowing cohesively between modern trends and timeless elements, while showing off your personality. Whether it is your home, business, or nonprofit, everyone has a story and I want to help tell it and make it as cool as you are.
